Wicked

It's been almost a year since I last written and so much has happened, but since the only people that read this are people I talk to all the time I don't feel like I need to "catch up" anyone on what's going on in my life.  And therefore, I'm going to go right onto the reason I'm posting this morning.

On March 3rd I took the day off from work and, along with 5 other friends, went and saw Wicked.  I had never really heard much about this play but I had heard the song "Defying Gravity" on an episode of Glee (yes, I watch that show...it's funny) and that lead me to find where it was from.  When I discovered that it was coming here to San Antonio I wanted to go.  For those of  you who don't know what the plot of this play is I'll give you a quick synopsis.

The play follows the relationship between the two witches of Oz, Glinda (the good witch) and Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West).  Elphaba is born with green skin and so she's often misunderstood and treated poorly.  She tries to help everyone she can but due to some unfortunate events she is accused of being a wicked witch.  Forced into the roll of being a Wicked Witch, Elphaba is a tragic case of someone being misunderstood and judged based simply on appearances.

The nice thing about this play that I found was that the moral dilemmas and any political viewpoints that might be found within aren't shoved in your face as they are so often in music and movies.  The music is amazing and the play is chock full of comedy.  It was well worth the day off from work and I'd love to go see it again.  And since it's coming to Spokane I'm so tempted to make a trip just to go see it again.

The only other thing I've really been doing with myself since last year (other than work) is riding my motorcycle.  I'd love to be able to ride every day and days like today (it's Saturday) all I want to do is go for a ride.

Isn't Wicked good!! I saw it in London. It's coming to San Diego in July '12....I am going and you can come too if you want. I bought season tickets to the Broadway shows here and that will be an "add on" I can purchase later. Just let me know if you think you can/want to go.
